Well then that settles it. Someone who has zero connections to the team or its ownership proclaims a rumour to be BS and adds several exclamation marks, we should take that as gospel.

The rumour is real. I have heard it, many others have and it was once reported on an insider website. Therefore the existence of the rumour is not BS. I think what you were trying to say is that you don't believe it to be true (again with absolutely nothing backing your opinion up).

Now let's just take this from a business perspective. Rule number one, everything is for sale. You are probably comfortable in your house and have no immediate plans to move, but if someone offered you the right deal, you might. Maybe they paid more money for it than you were expecting or something happened suddenly in your life where you needed to relocate.

Same goes for the IceDogs. There may not be a sign on the front lawn but if the right price came along or the wrong set of personal circumstances arose, they would sell - it's just business.

To first your first point “trades”. You’re referring to the Studnicka - Moore. That trade was leaked – and for obvious reason it was not supposes to be public knowledge until Studnicka was finished at the World Jrs. That trade couldn't be finalized until all NTA were waived – and at that point none of that was done, nor was the trade known to the players yet. Oshawa and Niagara had to deny the trade at that point – they really had no choice in that situation.

The lying about paying players is not a Niagara issue – it’s an OHL issue. Ask Dale the same question and he’ll lie too.

If you haven’t seen this – it’s funny!

Injuries: Agree 100 percent. Different teams take difference approaches to reporting injuries, but I hated the injury reports last year, especially since it was a go for it year. I don’t care nearly as much this year.

Players Reporting was not a really a lie – Joey Burke thought Stephan Halliday was reporting, but somewhere between drafting him and getting him signed - something went wrong.

Check out what Halliday had to say the day he was drafted. It certainly sounded like someone who wanted to be an Icedogs.

https://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/...k-in-ohl-draf/

Halliday was thrilled to hear his name called by the IceDogs in a draft that was being conducted online. "I wanted to go to a really good organization," he said. "I'm very happy that Niagara picked me, they're an unreal organization. "I'm glad to be a part of it." Halliday intends to work on his skating between now and training camp.
I guess they’re just big enough bozo’s to get caught with their signature on a paper to pay a player under the table.

Maybe you should. Joey Burkes signature- paying Liam Ham- look it up.

The document appeared to be signed by Mike Ham and Joey Burke and was included with Ham's standard player agreement. It said that the IceDogs agree to pay Ham $2,000 for each year for the subsequent four years. Payment was to be made on the anniversary date of his contract signing.

You wrote … “caught with their signature on a paper to pay a player under the table.

This payment was not to Liam it was to his father, Mike.

In the case of Wilkie… the Law Firm’s report was unable to confirm what was agreed upon and also who agreed on it. The ambiguity of the report allows for several interpretations. Bill Burke Sr. was willing to pay what he believed was agreed upon, while Wilkie wanted what he believed was agreed upon. With no written agreement, emails, voice mail or text messages to prove Zach Wilkie's contentions the “actual” truth is unknown.

But coming back to the original point…this lying about paying players is not a Niagara issue – it’s an OHL/CHL issue. A league wide investigation would get really ugly!

Oh wow, you got me there. I guess Liam playing for Niagara has nothing to do with the Dogs just handing over 2 grand a year to his dad. Everything was on the up and up. Just picking a random guy, and giving him dough. His son just coincidentally ended up playing for the organization. My bad.
