I’m be no means a goalie expert, nor do I play one on TV, but I do watch a lot of OHL games (and highlights) – all OHL goalies give up a goal “they wish could have back” in most games.

When assessing the play of junior hockey goalies, everything is relative.

I totally respect your non-expert opinion and agree with you whole heartedly.

If you would like to review the video from the Sudbury game, I believe Dhillon may have played differently. Said game did in fact result in a shutout and Dhillon received a much deserved first star honours. My expert opinion is that if he played like that consistently, those NHL scouts would be beating down his door. Feel free to agree.

I am not sure if the group agrees, but so far the NHL sides with me on Stephen Dhillon .
Thank goodness Steve listened to an expert, as, voila , he has produced yet another S/O. NHL? Those guys are never wrong.

Dhillon did not necessarily play differently last night. Dhillon (and the IceDogs) may have shutout Sudbury, but they could have just as easily given up a few goals. Sometimes the puck hits you (e.g., 3 save scramble), sometimes you get lucky (e.g., 40 seconds left Sudbury pushed the puck into the post) and sometimes a player just misses the corner of the net (e.g., Ruzicka).

Everyone would agree that UPL was incredible yesterday, but would that still be the general consensus if the pucks that beat UPL didn`t hit the post (Lodnia, Roberston, Thomas), or Tomasino doesn`t miss a wide open net or if Studnicka`s goal was not called back?

None of those missed chances change the fact that both UPL and Dhillon were brilliant yesterday - not different.

Our defensive play in our own end played a big part in Dhillon's shut out and he stated that in the post game interview.
It's a team game and I really enjoyed last night's match and the playoff in your face attitudes from both teams.

Now they just need to continue to build on that...and we should be good to go.
