Since he is an OA player IMO the player has more value to the acquiring team the sooner they can acquire him... ergo the more value Niagara receives in return.

JB should have been working the phones HARD once he found out Lodnia was returning...

Let’s hope that was the case

Not sure what Niagara would get back in a trade for Lodnia.
I have read here, that we could get a couple of 2nd round picks for him.
Last year, Niagara got him from Erie for a conditional 5th round pick in 2019 and of course, Danial Singer. What would that equate to in today's market?

Not sure if we will or would get what everyone wishes for here.

Ivan Lodnia is at least worth that. Don't forget, although undersized and not NHL material, Danial Singer continues to be a quality player. The Lodnia trade from Erie was hampered by his no-trade-agreement, let's hope in his OA year he expands those horizons to a wider array of "go for it" teams.

Ya. You have to figure if he is going to have to spend another year in the OHL he will want to win a championship. So that opens up a handful of contending places to play.

Miletic played two seasons in the OHL prior to his OA season. In those two years, he put up 69 points in 100 games. He added 1 assist in 10 playoff games.

In the two seasons prior to this one (Lodnias OA year) Ivan has put up 104 points. He added another 14 points in 10 playoff games.

In a non “go for it” season. To acquire Miletic, JB gave up...

2nd 2018
3rd 2022
2nd 2024
2nd 2025

Some on here like to go strictly by numbers when analyzing trades. We can’t always do that as there are often other circumstances that go unspoken for behind the scenes. Also, the new rule that doesn’t allow trades as far into the future, makes them harder to acquire. Having said that. The numbers Lodnia produced as an 18 and 19 year old far outweigh those of Miletic. The better stats should make up the difference in those factors.

JB should be looking at 4 second round picks for Lodnia based on what he gave up for Miletic.

The rumoured deal of the “non prospect” out of Ottawa that has 3 goals in over 60 games would be highway robbery. The Dogs need to get multiple high end picks for Lodnia. Not a project.

Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

And don’t forget

We got Magic Sam at the trade deadline

If JB was smart he would move him ASAP to increase the haul

I am not expecting him to be smart enough to do that nor am I expecting him to be smart or shrewd enough to recover what we gave up in the Militec deal.

Everyone complaining about how our draft pick cupboard is so bare ... well part of the problem is wasting those picks we gave away to London of all teams for less than half a season of Militec ... you all think it’s just so easy for him to recoup them at a later date .... we’ll let’s see what the boy genius can do now that the shoe is on the other foot

Lol
