I really hope, every year, that the officiating in this league will be better in the playoffs than it is in the regular season but... Just... No words...

I mean, I know officiating sports is difficult, especially a fast game like hockey, and I know this is a developmental league... but I would be embarrassed to call myself an official in this league after some of the games I've watched this year... This one included. The missed calls on both sides (not being biased here) were terrible...

Were you at the game ? It helps to see the whole rink before making a bad official call IMO .

I find watching the replay is a good method also. Mike Marley is a marginal official how does he make it to playoffs?

Ryan Mantha's tripping penalty in the first period was blatant dive - Russian judge gave 9.9!

Last's night's game was the first playoff game for 12 of our players and I believe that it was Dhillon's first game between the pipes as well.
They found a whole new game last night as playoffs are a whole different animal compared to regular season.
Last night was for learning (as per coach Bell) and I am looking forward to seeing how this team comes back tomorrow evening.

“Twelve guys got a chance to experience playoff hockey for the first time,” he said. “We learned a lot, so I’m happy. Everything is about learning.” The difference between competing in the playoffs and playing in the regular season can be night-and-day for rookies.

“You learn the intensity cranks up, you learn details get more finite,” said Bell, a one-time pro speaking from experience. “You learn the referees let you play a little more. “Our guys went in eyes wide open and, hopefully, we learned from it.”

Unlike the IceDogs, who didn’t get their first shot on goal until more than four minutes into the game, the intensity on Peterborough’s part was there for the whole game. Bell wasn’t the least bit surprised by that. “They’re a veteran team that’s been to the playoffs, they went and acquired guys who’ve been through the playoffs rigours.”

I should have used the quote and it would have been much clearer at to what I meant.

Brain fart on Dhillon's part and then the team forgot all about offense. Kudos to second and third lines.
