I wonder if Clark and Burkholder have ever been approached to do an Ice Dogs / OHL show. I like those guys.

First off like most people I didn't see the incident. Secondly, if indeed our mascot dumped a bucket of anything on someone's head without their express consent, that is inexcusable and the IceDogs need to make a full and unqualified apology. Third, if an on-air personality deliberated and decided to blame the woman for his misogynistic views that it is "ok" because of how she was dressed, he needs to step away from his role.

It isn't ok to steal a woman's property and then embarrass her simply because you are bigger and stronger. Niagara has a welcoming reputation, we don't mistreat our visitors and we don't condone those who do. We don't hide our jerseys in other arenas and shouldn't expect others to do so here.

For a team that had a very public anti-bullying campaign this sends the wrong message. The remedy is a public denouncement of the incident, a private word with the mascot about boundaries, private compensation to the lady involved and a charity of her choice, and a picture of Bones in the bad dog box so we can put it to rest.

Beats me - I've never bought anything from the concessions. Ever - even at the Jack!

But I'd imagine popcorn at the Meridian Center is more than a buck or two. I'd probably pull off the mascot's head and toss it onto the ice if any mascot dumped my popcorn on me in front of 5000 people.

I never witnessed the incident spoken about in this thread. But if it's true, that's WAY past crossing the line.

I was embarrassed as a fan just reading about it.

Harass the opposing team - don't embarrass and assault their fans.

That's pretty cool!

So, open invite then everyone. You life has just changed so, lighten up buddy. Stand by that Mr.

Absolutely agree.

What's next.. do we start dumping beers over people's heads, and when they don't laugh we say "Whatsa matter? You can't take a JOKE?"

There's FUN jokes, which all parties involved find it humorous and fun, and there's downright embarrassing someone and making them feel uncomfortable.

And I don't believe FOR A SECOND that DJ would find it fun to have his own popcorn dumped on his head in front of 5000 people. Even if there was 5 people. I don't think I could walk into a restaurant and dump his food on his head and make him feel better about it by saying "lighten up".

When the person NOT having fun is the person who's having the (whatever) done to them, that's just plain harassment.

It's bullying, and I can tell you hands down that if I was nearby and saw that happen, I'd have really given Bones an earful in front of EVERYONE to hear.

Personally I'd really like to chat with the person playing Bones that night. Feel free to PM me Bones. You owe that lady an apology, you owe the organization an apology, and you owe YOUR OWN FANS an apology.

Allright, rant off, or I'm going to work myself into a frenzy here...

If she was then it was up to Meridians AMPLE security to escort her out.

.. .and your post quoted above is pure speculation. She could have just been trying to have a nice family visit to our building.

Agree 100%. I would also add that for me, DJ's tweets seem to border on bullying as he appears to mock the lady who had popcorn poured on her. Hopefully the IceDogs distance themselves from DJ as there is a lot of ill feelings towards DJ on Twitter right now.

Unfortunatly THIS Bones needs to be taught a lesson! I did not witness his incedent of pouring popcorn over the ladies head, but I did witness him dumping popcorn on a Pete's player after the second period when he was coming off the ice after a TV interview.
Now there are two ways to stop this from blowing it into WW3...replace Bones
and put the tarp back up so players coming off the ice are not subject to fan/mascot abuse...

I was at an Islander/Rnanger game a few years ago when the Islanders mascot( dragon) thought it would be funny to pour something on a Ranger fan and his girlfriend!! Before we realized that this wasn't a prank, the Ranger fan pummeled the mascot so badly that he was taken out on a stretcher, head ripped right off and obviously in need of repairs. Maybe mascots should clap, take pictures with fans and cheer on their team!!
