If I owned an OHL team, I would have all those BMW's as well. Prolly grab a Range Rover as well. Those trips up north can be a real struggle.

Good for them

Why be the owner of any business let alone a hockey team and not try to make money? Why else would you do it? Don't see anyone bitching about all those years the Icedogs owners were losing money.

I am certain the deans at all the US colleges drive vehicles far nicer than the Burke family but they don't pay their student athletes either. That is the issue, not how profitable a team is. Are they employees or student athletes. The rest is just distractionary and a prime example of poor journalism.

I find the players using Berg as their poster boy comical.

Imagine someone trying to make money off of a business. Thee are ups and down in any business and you take the good times with the lean times. Typical libtard snowflakes getting bent all out of shape again...

Poor journalism? The reporter is just covering the court proceedings. The lawyers representating the players is bringing up the cars. The reporter is just covering what is being talked about in court.

I think the lawyers keep bringing this up because the CHL is saying it's teams can't afford to pay players. The player's lawyers are trying to show that teams can pay if they cut back on unnecessary expenditures.

I agree that I don't think it really matters since it should be about whether players are employees or not. But obviously to the lawyers on both sides the team's ability or inability to pay players seems critical to their arguments.

The slant is there pitting an affidavit from Denise Burke prior to the Meridian Centre against leased vehicles from 2016. Does the journalist point out she isn't psychic and doesn't know what the future holds, no he just puts the statement and the cars side by each as if they were hidden rather than occurring 2 years apart. That my friend is yellow journalism.

We both agree the key issue is employee versus student athlete.
