I used to hear for years ‘Oh, they should hold this in Canada every year - no one shows up when it’s in Europe’. I think now we’re seeing what happens when they do hold it in Canada(Buffalo,NY - close enough) every year. That and the organizers are going to find that forcing fans to buy tickets in a massive single package was/is a mistake. Too expensive, too much all at once. I wonder what might have happened if we could have bought single tickets, at OHL prices..

I think if you put it in a CHL market. A hockey crazed market. An arena that seats 5000 - 10000. And you charge the same as your market team tickets. You don't let concessions go nuts trying to gouge the fans. People who travel to see the World Jrs, will always travel to see the World Jrs. Make sure it's in a place with plenty of reasonable / affordable accommodations. I think people will come. And the locals will fill up the rest of the seats, especially if you send the market team on an extended road trip. If you feel you NEED to sell packages, have a variety available. Have Team Packs, that let you catch all the games for your Team, have flex packs, have the things people WANT...

Now, I would bet that the problem is that the World Jrs are run by 'Events' people, not really HOCKEY people. People who don't think about things like 'Are people going to want to see the World Jrs in NHL numbers, or would people flock more the Jr hockey venues?'

Just the kind of stuff that floats to the surface of my brain while waiting for classes to start again.

I would be more apt to watching game if in a city that supports junior hockey. Not one that does not have a junior team.

If more players would throw their medals into the crowd, I'd be apt to attend more games.
