General Manager, Joey Burke shares his enthusiasm,”This is an exciting signing for us. Sami is a guy who was the biggest surprise of our camp and he has earned this opportunity. He was relentless all week and combined physicality, work ethic and instincts to really have a great showing. He’s a guy we have liked since his draft year and and I am confident he will fit in here down the line. Sami will spend the season developing in Trenton which is a great program and they will have him more than ready to join us full time in the future!”

Wasn’t a lot to talk about tonight Tynan looked good team played well defensively but Oshawa helped out by only playing the last half of the game offensively they over passed a lot especially on the PP but they were probably missing the first unit (depending on who’s on it)

By all accounts,...

Tucker is not only back but looks even better. He needs an all-star type season to move up a spot or two to earn a spot on the USA U20 team.

On defence, Enright, Cato and Howard did not dress - along with Betts and Cook the rookies impressed. In particular, 04 Import Dionicio! 05 Wysick, 04 Leonard and 03 Douglas-Najem - excellent.

Up front, Uberti, Butler and Graham/Gushchin were healthy scratches. Of the rookies, Waddick, Fimis and B.Cooke stood out the most last night.

If Gushchin is returned, it will not be until early October, however, I'd expect to see Alex Graham in the exhibition games this week.

Dionicio looked excellent. Some nice moves in his own end under pressure to exit the zone. Tynan was solid, never looked like he was being tested. Also liked Waddick. Small, fast, fiesty.Thought the IceDogs looked small compared to Oshawa. Not sure if this will change with opening night roster. It was good to be back!!

Dionicio and Najem were both excellent!
Joey Burke needs to find a regular spot for Najem, an 04 who is signed.
He is definitely ready for the OHL this year.
Perhaps trade for an OA forward, ie Mutter probably be available( Hamilton has 6 OA's)
I believe carrying 3 OA's def is overkill..
We have Mason, Betts and Cook and need an OA forward to protect all of our rookies.
Mutter is the guy!!
Go get him Joey.
