Yeah, up to a maximum of 1000. I would trust that they knew what they were doing. Feels like people come on here just to be able to complain about something, to someone...

While I often am at odds with the hockey decisions the IceDogs make, their off ice presentation is generally pretty good. They did exactly what needed to be done, nothing more, nothing less. I would bet there was enough space for every person to have at least a 6' bubble. And anyone that wasn't distancing didn't want to. So, I'm not really sure what the problem is. Yeah, I would have preferred to be sitting where I'm comfortable, around a lot less people. But as with most businesses, I would imagine they leaned out their staffing requirements.

And I'm pretty sure all 3 exhibition games will look similar. With a limit of 1000 seats or less, why bother opening yourself up to more labour costs than absolutely necessary.

It is what it is... I don't have to like it, but why complain. In the grand scheme of things...

Only thing I care to be concerned about at this moment is who our on ice leadership team will be.

Elephant in the room -- what about U12 at games -- I'm vaccinated to ensure I don't get/pass the illness to others. If unvaccinated people are in attendance, then it challenges the point of me showing my vaccination status. Are U12 going to provide a negative test at the door or do they get a free pass?

That's, literally the best question about the new entry policy that I have seen. I would assume that U12 will be under the direction of their parents (who by definition must be vaxxed), and will likely be given a pass, but as with everyone else, will be required to be masked. And we all know how well that will go, as most parents coming to the game that I've had to deal with treat the arena like a "Safe Space" and let their little Crotch Goblins run wild...

Incidentally the best Crotch Goblin story I've seen so far was the kid chewing on the ledge of the boards, and just waiting for someone to come get him. He was there 10 minutes om-nom-nomming the damned boards. If a player had hit the boards there, at speed, the kid could easily have had a broken jaw, or worse... Eventually a player shot the puck off the glass and scared the kid less... Fun times... o.O

I guess I didn't get my point across well. I am not complaining but an wondering if they opened up more sections, couldn't they allow in more than 1000 people. The demand wasn't there for the Red/White game but it will be when the season starts.
Also when it comes to these kind of decisions it is the Meridian Centre making them and not the Dogs.

They're not allowed to have more than 1000 people until the Double Vaxx mandate comes into effect (and even then all I have heard are vague notions of what is going on... it's like 12% of a plan).

I believe the Ontario Government made this call in conjunction with the OHL, and Chief Medical Officers in the Province. I would imagine neither the IceDogs, nor the Meridian Center get much of a vote. All we know for sure, is the the IceDogs [b]believe[/B ] we will be able to be at full capacity (or closely thereabouts) by puck drop on the OHL season. I am somewhat less sanguine, but, I've never had much faith in politicians.

Apologies. I'm just so used to coming on here and seeing people complaining about stuff. If that wasn't your intention, then I am sorry for my implication that you were complaining. We just get a fair bit of negativity on here, we all do it, so I wasn't specifically meaning yourself.

We'll hear more soon I would imagine.

It is a provincial decision for all indoor facilities right now does not apply solely to OHL. 25% capacity or 1,000 people, whichever is less. Hockey, cinema, theatre, does not matter .

I am sure they could properly socially distance 1,000 people with several sections closed and I don?t blame them for doing that ?. The Jays are currently doing that at Skydome with 15,000 people probably for the same reason ? so they don?t have to clean / provide security etc for the entire stadium when only 1/3 or less will be utilized anyways.
