I think the Dogs are in a very tough position...we just don't gave the assets...just can't see us being able to compete with the Ottawas...hope I'm wrong

Ottawa is good enough and has enough assets to go for it this year and next.

Agreed... they could actually afford to buy an impact player (or two-three) that would be around for both years. What's your opinion for Niagara, fish or cut bait?

Simply not good enough. They have assets to make themselves better, but not enough to win it.

A few years ago, Oshawa was in first place. They knew they didn't have the horses or the assets to truly go for it. They ended up selling. Shortly thereafter, they won the Memorial Cup. The organization recognized although they were a good team, they weren't a great team.

The Dogs are similar, they have some good pieces. IMO, they are not Memorial Cup contending material.

I've said it before. This team could have a very good season. I don't believe it will be a championship season. Some people are content with having a good season and being entertained. Others want to build for a championship at all costs. I fall into the latter category. I want a championship. Since I don't believe they are good enough to deliver... I would sell.

Having said that... I don't believe Mom and Dad let the boys end up with egg on their face after all the talking they've done. I think they will buy.

I’ve watched 5 Ottawa games this year (yes, good team – but not great). They make more than their share of mistakes in all 3 zones - just like all the other teams currently at or near the top of their divisions.

OHL fans have this team a bit overrated, when comparing them to what a great OHL team looks like (check out these rosters!)

Those rosters are post deadline. Let's see what Ottawa looks like after the deadline. I also wonder what those teams records were at the same point in the year as we are now. Ottawa has 3 regulation losses in 19 games at this point.

It’s going to take quite a bit (picks, 01 and 02) to get a young Ottawa team to look anything like those teams, in terms of age and talent.

This was the IceDogs best roster. Ended with 12, yes 12, NHL drafted players and still couldn't win.

Man were Jenys and Harper ever disappointing to me ... Jenys was invisible most nights and I couldn’t believe how bad of a skater Harper was...
