Game Thread Hamilton Bulldogs @ Niagara IceDogs - Thursday, 2018.12.13 - 7pm

Niagara IceDogs:
3rd in the East after 29 games with 40 points, 18-7-4-0 or 0.690%
Scoring: Robertson 31-28, Thomas 11-27, Maksimov 20-17
Goaltending: Dhillon 23GP 2.80GAA(7th) 0.914%(6th)

Hamilton Bulldogs:
7th in the East after 31 games with 32 points, 15-14-2-0 or 0.516%
Scoring: Saigeon 21-31, Kaliyev 24-25, Strome 12-25
Goaltending: Roy 15GP 3.19GAA(11th) 0.899%(11th)

Niagara leads the K9 Cup Challenge two games to one. Time to neuter the competition. This is one of the teams the IceDogs should have no difficulty with. Just have to score more times than they get penalties

Gap to First Place: 12 points, yes 3 games in hand.

Play our 3rd line against their #1 and grind them down. If they don't get under our skin, should be a decisive win.

GAME 30 / 68 vs HAMILTON

99 Strome, Matthew (PHI)
99 Entwistle, MacKenzie (ARZ)
99 Nurse, Isaac

------------------------------------------
98 Mattinen, Nicolas (TOR/OTT Unsigned OA)
99 Landry, Kade
00 King, D.J.

This IceDogsí team continues to rack up the points.
2018/2019 (40 pts in 29 gm)
2015/2016 (34 pts in 29 gm)
2011/2012 (32 pts in 29 gm)

Here are some statistics that are impossible to sustain over an entire season.
<> Since acquiring Robertson and Paquette, the Ice Dogs are playing .857 hockey.
<> With a healthy lineup (4 games), the Ice Dogs are play 1.000 hockey.

IN THE NEWS
<>@ohlprospects (Dec. 9, 2018) Top 10 - Under the Radar Draft Eligibles for 2019
Kyen Sopa (Niagara IceDogs), a late 2000 born Import, has found himself as part of a championship contender in Niagara, Sopa has seen his ice time cut in recent weeks with the addition of Jason Robertson and the emergence of Philip Tomasino. Playing on the 3rd and 4th line is not a kiss of death for your draft value, but it does mean that he will have to find a way to stand out consistently with the time he does get. I continue to admire the energy that Sopa brings to the ice. Undersized, but he attacks the net and seems to revel in that pest role. Has very quick hands in tight. But playing with less talented players, he will need to create more of his own scoring chances and show more of a dynamic ability with the puck in transition.

Hopefully Mason Howard is in the lineup to take care of DJ King. Watching King hack and slash and cross-check every IceDogs player that is near him just infuriates me.

If Bukac is gone for WJC then heíll be in but I donít think he changes anything when it comes to King or any other player

Next year, the year after will be a different story, but I just don't see Howard doing a whole lot. So much of his game is still learning angles, and trying to improve foot speed. He's just not the physical force that we'd like him to be... Patience.

Sorry to say but I think Howard is more of a physical force then Bukac is. Sure Bukac is a big boy but no physical play from him at all.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you 100%. He is really not hard to play against, which shows us the reason he was waived out of the WHL.
Maybe, he will come around.
