He does have one more year under that contract but still that money won't last forever like NiceDawg said so if it's available and he wants to work he should go for it cause you never know when a job will be available again

Exactly. Safety nets and hammocks have the same basic design but one shouldn't be confused for the other. There is also a tipping point between "former coach and GM" and "has-been".
