Default Pete's History?

A recent report to City council in Peterborough warns that the team will go broke in four years unless $350k per year is added to their coffers.

Article here

The team blames the increased education costs but a closer look shows that Peterborough has the lowest attendance in the league 2273. The team's audience has slumped from a high of 3430 in 2005.

Attendance chart here

If the City doesn't relent, could the Pete's join the Bulls in extinction?

If the city does stay greedy (like Belleville) then history will rePETE. Where would the next OHL team pop up?

The Regals were thrown together and some of them don't have passports and can't travel to Canada. An OHL franchise would be different.

Chatham has been rumoured in the past and Cornwall comes up quite often. That would be my first choices before a team in Buffalo.

Newmarket comes up from time to time as well... that rumour also floats with discussions the Burkes would want to return to their home town and start with a new franchise (buy cheaply, and sell high).

Tough one. I gotta noodle Buffalo some more, my initial reaction is it won't pay the bills.

Parry Sound would be kiss of Death, too small, too close to Colts country. Chatham sandwiched in between Windsor and London, good luck. Cornwall, I haven't visited in a while, but where would they draw a significant fan base from? Burkes in Newmarket? I think they're smarter than that. Even with our rebuilding year, fans are still showing up and I think more so than they would in Newmarket.

Anyway, looks I should get to a Pete's game before it's too late. We're trying to get to every barn in the league.
