This would be great for us. Plus great exposure for the league in general.

But I hope they stay in Peterborough.

Lol.

Toronto is leafs town not hockey town.

Burkes would be fools to start over there again . They'd lose their shirts.

I can't see them selling now . 4500 in the building on average for a rebuilding team ...

Plus Their two kids haven't established themselves yet ....

We are aware that both Cities would need new arenas. Sort of sounds like what happened in St.Catharines.

As anyone who lives there would be happy to remind you - York is not Toronto.

Newmarket, Aurora and Richmond Hill are so close to Toronto and they may as well be part of Toronto. Maybe sometime soon, they might become part of the GTA.
Does anyone remember how long the former St. Catharines Saints Hockey Team (Maple Leafs AHL farm team) lasted in Newmarket?

A lot has changed since then, that was the era where Niagara couldn't get behind the Thunder. Communities like York, Durham and Peel Regions although proximal to The Big Smoke, have enough contempt to stay distinct.

The Thunder did not survive do to poor ownership and management in my opinion.
As per north of Toronto, we shall see what we shall see.

They were trying to get an NHL team there so I can see it being time to host OHL again.
