It was an ugly win but take the two points and run.
The game should have been over with that 5 on 3 for two minutes late in the third, and we get nothing. I am thinking that when Maksimov returns, the power play will get better with the addition of Sam.
Nice two points though and tonight's game should be a better game.
Go Dogs Go!!
Yes I hope you are right and they rise to the occasion.... that 5-3 was absolutely horrendous. ..Whoever is in charge of that powerplay should be reassigned. ..Seriously just think where we might be with any kind of a powerplay...Go Dogs

Coach Billy said in his post game that the dismal power play is on him. We can have coaches responsible for the PP or the PK but, the buck always ends up at the feet of the head coach.
Good for Billy for stepping up on the responsibility of our non-existent PP.

Billy said that they plan on working on the PP in practice.

It is common knowledge that teams need to slow the game down as everyone always says, but, looking at our PP, I looked like our players are sound asleep. There does not appear to be any urgency.
Pick up the pace boys,
This is supposed to be a fast team, yet, the PP is turtle speed.
I would still like to see Carbs standing in front of the net on the PP to bother the hell out of the goalie but, not pick up a penalty though.

Things always seem to be better when you move your feet faster then the other team...that pp is tough to watch...and we still can't get the puck out of our end...Always out muscled and out hustled.

By the end of the game, it was pretty obvious Sam Miletic is an excellent hockey player. A strong, smooth skater, long powerful strides and accelerates quickly; great vision and hands; uses his body well to shield the puck; plays responsibly in both ends of the rink and as an elite OA displayed a lot of poise and confidence.

Miletic’s impressive 3 point debut (which also included and amazing shootout goal), had nothing to do with whether the Ice Dogs play a similar style to London, or the Ice Dog’s system of play suits Miletic better, but without over-stating the obvious - just a simple case of Sam Miletic being a really good hockey player.

Welcome to Niagara!

The only way an umbrella formation works is with speed. The goaltender and skaters should almost never know where the puck is going to turn up next, pulling the opposing team to one side or the other. Our powerplay is far too slow with the only puck movement being on the two spots at the blue line. No one else is positioned either to block the goaltender or receive a pass and make a shot. Our attackers are pressed and cough up the puck easily or take a shot from well outside. There is no urgency or positioning. Sniping from a distance is one way to get goals but not always the easiest.

Langdon needs to be sat down. That was a stupid selfish play. He always wants to do the big open ice hit instead of making a smart play. His failure to clear the puck cost them a goal and his egotistical penalty for five minutes gave Erie another one and shifted momentum. I am tired of him trying to be a tough guy hero.
