Default The officiating in the OHL is an atrocity

Five minute major and a game misconduct for a legal, open-ice check. On the next shift, an IceDog gets flattened from behind into the boards, referee staring right at it, no call.
If I was a player or a coach, this would absolutely drive me batty. Some poetic justice from Phil(the thrill)Tomasino.

Judging by what the Dogs sound like on radio, I’d say the Pups are using the ridiculousness of the officiating as a motivator. I think the key tonight will be keeping the kids’ emotions in check.
3-0!!

To me without seeing a replay it looked like he elbowed him ... and I seem to think he made head contact too ... so I wasn’t surprised it was a penalty and I think it being a five was questionable

Some of the calls against the Dogs I simply think were a function of the score and the refs trying to keep the game close.

Really don’t think the refs have been all that bad tonight except for whether or not it justified a major .. it was def a penalty IMHO

IVE SEEN MUCH WORSE OFFICIATING THAN THIS THATS FOR SURE LOL

Interesting though, that in what turned out to be quite a high-scoring game, Kingston to their credit didn’t turn this game into a bloodbath. It was fascinating to watch both teams simply realizing that this was a game that anyone could score in. Wide open, end-to-end action. I wish every hockey game could be like this one. Both teams with offensive confidence, just trying to turn every rush into an offensive chance
More games like that, please!

I thought the first penalty should have been a double minor but we scored a big short handed goal
