This is what makes me glad I did not watch this game. 11-1? Are you saying the Dogs brought MacLean in to humiliate him? Why leave him in for the whole game? This is just more evidence that Billy Burke doesn’t know what he’s doing.
I’m just waiting for a ‘white knight’ buyer to come forward. Somebody with a guarantee that they will not relocate the team after buying it.
If the arena is worth, say $60 Million, how much is the franchise worth? Another $50 million? We would need someone in Niagara with extremely deep pockets. Whatever happened to that consortium of ex-players led by Steve Ludzik?

So we have a young unrefined team, with no goaltending, and a head coach who only knows a few tricks. The supporting coaches are either just as inept or are being paid to agree with Jr. B.

You know, I've been wondering about that too... Isn't Jody Hull supposed to be a good coach with tons of experience, and as an Associate Coach, shouldn't he have a fair bit of input? Basically training Billy Burke how to be a good Head Coach? Maybe he needs to be offering more inspiration to Billy, or maybe Billy needs to put on his listening ears and sit under the learning tree.

The IceDogs have been playing around with this whole Associate Coach thing for a while... Maybe Billy just isn't Head Coach material? Huh... Who would have thought that... Who could have guessed that hiring your son ( regardless of his tenure as Marty's lap dog ) is probably not the best idea when looking for a Head Coach to lead a bunch of teenagers... Time should have been put in coaching at lower levels to develop the skills necessary to become good at coaching, or discovering that it's not a passion, and allowing you to move on to something you are passionate about.

I suspect morale is extremely low right now. Which explains the lack of effort.

Exactly. Some of these players on the 1st and 2nd line wouldn't even be in the line up on top teams.

Jody Hull has been around the game for a long time as a player and now as a coach but his coaching record is nothing to write home about. In his last 11 years with the Pete's they were only above a middle of the pack team once. They made it out of the 2nd round once, 1st round twice. They missed the playoffs 3 years in a row at one point. Aside from the championship they won in his first year coaching there's little evidence he's a good coach.

I suppose I should have guessed that. Would a good coach actually be willing to shepherd Baby Burke as he struggles through learning the ropes of coaching? If he were good, I guess another team would have picked him up to be their Head Coach...

I think you are hitting the nail on the head here...

If he were a good coach he would be hired to be a head coach somewhere else

Someone else with a pedigree also probably wouldn?t want to be the yes man to the owners son whose the coach ...

Who runs the defensemen on the bench is it Hull?

Come to think of it I don?t see BB and Hull talking all that much on the bench .... I?m going to watch more of this as this lame duck season comes to a conclusion ...
