Game Thread Niagara IceDogs 2019-20 (Week 26)

Peterborough scored 12, Ottawa tonight, any predictions, I'm almost afraid to watch.

Whether RSJ is surprised or not is irrelevant. It was 5-0 after One

I was particularly interested in this part here:

"Last year was a lot of fun. Hopefully, this team can go a little bit farther than we went last year," Thomas said. "To be honest, I'm still kind of sour from last year. I'm still kind of upset about it."
In 2018-19, the IceDogs' hopes for their first OHL championship were dashed when they lost to the Oshawa Generals four games to two in the second round.

Rebuilding is not an excuse for getting embarrassed constantly. Kingston and North Bay are rebuilding, they’re still competitive. They’ve shown improvement. North Bay beat Ottawa two weeks ago. Niagara has not shown in any aspect at all. That’s coaching. The losses were expected to pile up after the deadline and that’s okay. The lack of improvement is on the coach and that’s the scary part.

I’m sure if we had Shane Wright we’d be a little better than we have been like Kingston those teams also have better goaltending IMO yes north bay beat Ottawa but Ottawa didn’t show up ANYONE in this league can win a game if the other team doesn’t show up (we did in Barrie) also north bay and Kingston have been basically the same team all year so of course over the season they’ve improved if we had this team from day 1 I bet they’d show some improvement but Thomas and Tomasino being here the first part of the year and playing as much as they did probably affected things this team was always going to get embarrassed without them IMO because the only guy you can trust to maybe score now is the guy who scored tonight

Nevermind the scoring, this team is bad in every aspect. I’m not only talking about improvement in the standings, I’m talking about improvement in positioning, structure, etc. We see none of that. You can continue to make excuses all you want, keep your head in the sand. But, coaching has a lot to do with nightly hammering these kids are taking whether you want to admit it or not.
