So, a bit of mixed reviews after the first two games post-trade. Jason Robertson seems to have come pretty much as advertised, Jacob Pacquette no problem, but this game had very much a feel of ‘just step on the ice and the game is won’.
Having said that, the Dogs are still not fully healthy, and this is only two games into the ‘empty cupboard’ era. So it seemed that everyone is not completely in sync just yet.
More scoring won’t help if you can’t stay out of the box.

People will never stop (unless the Burke’s sell and they all leave unfortunately)

Nepotism aside we are very fortunate to have had the Burke’s as owners.


Guessing there wouldn’t be many people who would suffer through seven years of losses and then with constant lobbying get a new arena built which has turned St. Catharines once eyesore of a downtown into a bustling entertainment district some nights ... and catapulted the close to the bottom in attendance Dogs into a top three club in attendance... also not many teams actually increase their attendance every year in a new barn once the bloom has fallen off the rose.

Gotta take the good with the bad as far as I’m concerned ...

Who here remembers how things went in Niagara last time with absentee out of town owner Rick Gay? *drops 🎤 *

True that...
I still say the single most important thing that Burke did was stick to his guns and market this as a regional team.
No other previous owner here or in the Falls did that.

Billy went over and spoke to Maksimov after the first two penalties. Not sure what the discussion consisted of but perhaps it ought to have included the words "butt" and "bench" .

Great businessman, I think this year will define if he is a great team owner. The fans have spoken out and it was 3 to 1 "sell" on this site but the team bought. Will be an interesting year!

The on ice won’t change him as an owner IMO (at least not until they miss the playoffs a few times or go a much longer stretch without a finals appearance) and if he listened to fans when it comes to buying or selling we wouldn’t have gon to an OHL a few years ago and wouldn’t have a shot at it this year I’m glad he doesn’t listen to the fans when it comes to buying or selling
