Maybe he doesn't think this team has a shot this year...and has decided to get a head start on his post Secondary education...anyways Good Luck to him, we will miss him.

72 hours after saying all 4 OA's would be here, they're down to one?
Kind of makes one wonder, does it not......

You have to respect his decision but I agree it might be one he will regret.

Lochead could have started to take courses at Brock - or enrol in online course at Western and play OHL hockey. Pretty much what he is going to be do at Western - going to school and playing CIS hockey? On the surface, Iím confused by this decision.
Exactly Blacksox, that what I was trying to say!!
There must be more to it than what he is saying.
Just guessing..perhaps doesnt like the coaching staff?
I'm just speculating because it is such a mind boggling decision.
The fact is, he is still going to play competitive hockey(university).

Also, for the life of me, I cant understand how Lochead does not even get an NHL try out this year.
Makes me wonder what the hell are these so called NHL experts scouts watching?
IMO, he does alot of things very well and is tougher than nails.

You're assuming that all universities are the same for every course of study. Perhaps whatever he plans on taking at university is at a higher caliber at Western than Brock, or if you don't start there in first year you go to the bottom of the pile in second year, or the courses at Brock are not accepted as prerequisites at Western. I have attended both schools and can attest to the fact they are neither equal in every regard nor completely compatible curriculum-wise.

I would have been completely shocked (and equally disappointed) to see Langdon and Schaefer on the team past the trade deadline.
