Game Thread Game night: IceDogs vs. Petes (Nov.21 / 7PM)

WOW things get quiet after a shutout loss.

Just goes to show that Friesen/Aggy/Desousa *are* our team. 2/3'rd of them are out and we can't put a single puck in the net.

Tonight the Dogs host the Petes.

Peterborough isn't great - 1 game below 500 at 12W 13L - but still much better than our 5 games below 500.

With Aggy and Friesen out of the lineup, McCourt is going to have to find ways to get the rest of the team working. Something he hasn't been able to do even when they were in the lineup.

from what i saw and heard about the petes game last night, they were fortunate to beat oshawa.

obviously the unjuries to friesen and agozzino hurt very badly.

the petes have to come in favoured here

McCourt really needs to get our last-year's Insam, Hamilton, and Shaw back. All 3 of those guys were forces to be reckoned with last year, and this year, aside from the -odd- Shaw scrap, they're hardly visible.

I can't really harp on the D yet. They have no veteran Dmen to lead them (Traccitto doesn't count, he's only been on D for like 3yrs of his entire hockey career). After they log games under their belt and can no longer be called inexperienced, if they're still allowing 40+ shots on net each night, then I'll be more critical.

But the rest of our forwards really need to get their act together and start contributing on a regular basis. If they're not, it's too easy for other teams to just focus on our top 3.

And for crying out loud, MCCOURT - IF YOU'RE READING THIS: NAME DESOUSA CAPTAIN *BEFORE* THE GAME STARTS TONIGHT. Whether Petro comes back or not, DOESN'T MATTER AT THIS POINT. If he returns, he'll be more than content with an 'A' I'm sure. GIVE US A FRICKIN CAPTAIN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

With our top 2 guys out right now, the rest of the forwards not contributing, our inexperienced D, and inconsistent goaltending, we can only fall so many points below everyone else before it'll be to far to get back into a playoff spot once we get our act together.

ps - where are current stats (goals/assists/points/etc) for our roster?

I can only find height/weight/DOB on the IceDogs site and the OHL site.

Yeah, the OHL site is tough to get around in. I think you refer to this page that shows the info you listed above. If you click on the names you will get more stats. I know of no other way to view them all at once.

They announced a sellout tonight but it was FFAAAARRR from that, at least as people in the seats go. Even if you counted all the season ticket holders along the sides as being there, the ends weren't filled. Oh well, if they sold 3145 tickets, that's great.

Disappointed to lose a 2-1 lead and end up with a 3-2 loss.

Alex Friesen was sitting with me during the 3rd. He said he'll be back in about a week. And boy do we need him. Hopefully he'll be able to keep his momentum and pick up the same pace.

Petgrave's goal was indeed a beauty as Mahood announced. This game looked good until the four minute power play. Can they decline the penalties like football???

One of the emptier games around my seats, lots of room to spread out, although it filled up more later. At game time, I actually thought it was the smallest crowd of the year!

Is it just me or does Andrews seem lost in this league...

Overall i thought it was a good game by the boys tonight. The effort was there even if the end result was a loss.

I noticed on the OHL site that they have an A beside Maisonville. Was this true? I wasn't able to make it tonight so I didn't see
