Doubt it. The Icedogs press release says nothing about him playing. Don't you think there is a reason for that?

slipping in the back door to make the playoffs every year isn't that impressive. 80% of the east make the playoffs. if the Dogs trade petro they can get some young studs to help make an actual good team in the years to come instead of settling for 8th spot and a 1st round sweep. the obvious thing to do from icedogs management perspective is to trade petro to a contender, let him develop more in that situation while the icedogs rebuild

I'd think John Davidson has more of a say than Petro does about where he plays. St.Louis wants him to play deep in the playoffs to gain more defensive skills, yes he has great hands and some nifty moves.... I don't care if The IIHF named him top D-man.... he still was out of position too many times leading to giveaways ... resulting in goals against. (nothing new)

Sapurji: Pietrangelo talks heat up ...

01/06/10 17:34 , Categories: blog
In keeping with tradition, let me post the disclaimer used every year to set out the ground rules for my updates on LPs.
... Whatever information is passed on here is not coming from fans, read on the Internets or as told to me by my imaginary friend.
These are tidbits that have been picked up in conversations with people who are directly connected to the league -- of course they could be getting information from my imaginary friend, so don't take anything as gospel. There are many deals involving many names that never come to fruition.
So with that in mind, please take the speculation with a grain of salt.
PETRO SWEEPS ON: So there's talk the London Knights are kicking the tires so to speak in regards to a possible deal for Alex Pietrangelo. Not sure what they're offering.
The Barrie Colts are still the mix and according to one source might be offering up players like Ryan Strome, Zach Hall, Mitch Bennett and picks for Petro.
More to come...

I hope his source is not me. That's what I wrote a few hours ago and it was purely speculation.
