Game Thread Sun, Oct 25... NIA (5-6-3) @ BRM (5-6-1)

Troops playing 3rd in 2.5 days- schedule edge Icedogs

Amazingly Brampton have allowed 3 goals or less in ALL of their 12 games this season. That would be pretty impressive for an NHL team but in the OHL that's very impressive

Butler has them playing good D and Killeen has been solid in the nets. They lost a lot of scoring from last year and that's a big problem for them especially while Hodgson is Out.

If you're watching this game you'll get the treat of seeing the worst 2 power plays in the league. Niagara is last at 8.6% and Brampton are 19th at 12.5%

BRM penalty kill is at 81.8% (8th), Dogs is at 78.7% (12th)

special teams edge once again aginst the Dogs but not as big a differencial as the last 2 games

add any thoughts or comments

Coming back from watching Brampton in Barrie (no, I'm not the one driving). Very impressive performance. The Battalion outshot the Colts, outplayed them (not by a large margain but that still says something in Barrie) and really shut down the potent Barrie forwards. They played the Colts as well as anyone I've seen this year. DiSalvo was incredible, he made one glove save in particular late in the game that was as nice as any save you'll see.

Short turnaround for the Battalion could help the Dogs. I hate afternoon games, but the start time helps Niagara in this case.

I can't ever recall seeing any teams with as pitiful PP %'s through this many games in the season. The Dogs PP is terrible, on Thursday night all they kept trying to do for the most part was set up one timers from the blue line which for the most part will be stopped 99% of the times, when they did have success, it was down low plays, but they kept on trying for the shots from the blueline while in their 'umbrella' formation.

Hopefully the Dogs can get the win, it is an important 'four pointer' and the Troops are playing better than many (including me) thought they would this year....must be Butler coaching well!

The edge in the schedule really goes to the Dogs, lets hope they can capitalize.

Vis will probably get the start for us. He rarely seems to play on the road, but he should get two of the Dogs three games this week.

wow, what a comeback. Back at .500. Excellent effort by Petgrave to prevent the open net goal. Thumbs up to him

Well, who saw these two teams combining to go 4 for 9 on the power play??

Penalty shot turned around the game. Nice shot by Freddie Hamilton and the passion in the celebration was a sign this game might turn around. Petgrave continues to impress me, and he absolutely saved the game by getting back to prevent the empty netter. Even if he'd taken a penalty on the play, it's better than giving up the goal -- by far, at that point.

Strange yet entertaining third period. The first part of the period, it was Niagara who looked like they were playing three in three. Again, the penalty shot turned this one around.

Still not a fan of afternoon games, I never feel I see the game as well. I suppose it's a lifetime of watching night hockey, afternoon games just feel odd.

What Brampton lacks in numbers fan-wise is made up for by having loud, enthusiastic fans, I've always felt, and today was no exception. Impressive noise for 1,700 fans.

Went to the game in Brampton today... Nice to see other Dogs fans there to cheer the team to a big comeback and a win. Looks like the boys are starting to click.
1700 fans in that building, looked empty and quiet... Our little building would be rocking with a back and forth game like that, nobody even booed the refs!!

Great Game Boys!!!
