Default Next Year

Ideally the team has a banner or two to smile about but it will be a total tear down and rebuild. Anyone with talent will be sold off and ideally Niagara captures a first-pick in the 2020 Priority Selection. If it were me as the team owner I would use the 2019-2020 year as a rebrand, new logo, new jersey design, new traditions, new structure on-ice and off.

In 2019, I would draft the best available goaltender and beef up my blueliners while everyone else grabs shooters in the first few rounds. Playing those guys through the adversity of a tank year would harden them for battle in three years.

When I saw your post my first thought was too soon. Really though it isn't. With no first round pick next year Niagara needs to find a way to have an impact.

My dad said the rebrand should have come at the ten year mark but a crap year is probably the next best time. I'd keep Bones on the jersey but give him a more aggressive look. They'd sell a ton of new swag if they did it right.

You must be kidding.
Who in the heck is worried about next year at this time.
My only concern is this year and will greatly enjoy the ride.
We will be entertained to some great hockey in the next few months!!

I'd hope the IceDogs organization is thinking about it! Their landscape just changed significantly so I'd imagine plans would have to evolve also. I am sure both the team and die-hard fans can think on more than one axis at a time

The Ice Dogs organisation has to be thinking down the road, but as for myself, I am enjoying this season with all it's ups and downs and then, a long playoff run.
Next season will come soon enough.

I think any serious fan has to have next year on their radar. Goaltending would be huge to have and the nice thing is there are sometimes diamonds in the rough to be had with the right scouting.

I'm not ready to rule the year out yet, sometimes there are surprises to be had with this age group.
