There have been a lot of changes in the IceDogs scouting staff in the last few years? The IceDogs once had as many as 11 scouts - they are now down to 7.

For starters, in June of 2016, Niagara announced that Roger MacLeod would take over as the teamís new Director of Scouting. Who was their Director of Scouting previous to MacLeod?

Roger MacLeod Director of Scouting
Darryl Boulley ETA - Gone
Matt Milne SCTA/Goalies
Kenny Fleck Ottawa
Nathan Martine GTA - Gone
Steve Ludzik Jr. OJHL - Gone
Mark Seidel Northern Ontario - Gone

Steve Spade Michigan - Gone
Rich Lisk New Jersey - Gone

Rob Hubbert Player Development

ÖTim MacLean, Vince Tarantino and Brent Tomlinson all added this year.
I cannot remember his full name, but, I believe his last name was Neville.

My spider senses were tingling when I saw this ... I immediately suspected it was trying to recruit someone who ended up NOT reporting ... which led me to speculate either Josh Norris or Trent Frederic.

But if they didn’t end up coming, than why would they have an axe to grind years later?

Until the Icedogs man up and explain exactly what happened there’s going to be all these rumours and speculation.

I suspect that that won’t happen based on their gutless denial they issued on twitter. Clearly throwing Marty under the bus ....

Isn’t beer expensive enough ? Lol

Is it really a gutless denial if itís actually true?

Hoping Savoie and Wright both get turned down for exceptional player status this year. At least they'd have a stud to build around if they bottom out next year.

The earlier they trade them the greater the return

Without a 2019 first they are going to need to maximize the value of their other assets

Which means maximizing the value of Thomas and Tomasino in a trade ,which means trading them earlier in the year, which means even worse performance next year.

Really don’t we how this team makes the playoffs next year with its total lack of draft picks and massive player graduation ...

My plan was always to trade both Thomas and Tomasino next season. But, there is no panic as far as I am concerned.

I trade both of them shortly after Christmas when there value goes through the roof.

I also move any player returning from NHL camps prior to the Christmas break.

We may not have a first round pick for the 2019 draft -- but when we trade Thomas and Tomasino, it now will become more critical to get a team's first round pick (like how we gave up Moore in getting Studnicka) with the picks that we give. We still could end up with a pair of 2019 first round draft picks and a really high 2020 first round draft pick. The future isn't barren, but we will have to hit homeruns with our picks.

I did see someone/some people as if this was why Marty doesn't have another job in the CHL. I would be shocked if it was. Even if this was solely his doing with promises made (and that's a massive IF), it's not like when he goes for job interviews he's going to say that's why he was let go and it's not like the Icedogs are going to say "we let him go because we found out about recruiting violations that we hope the league doesn't find out about and punishes us for".

Who was it in relation to? It's unlikely a star, it's somebody spurned. The deal would be between either the owners or executives and the player. The owner is never going to speak about it and the player would have no reason to unless they were spurned.

I can remember Marty telling us that he and his family liked living in Niagara. The following hockey season, he coached his son's team in St. Catharines and they had a great season, if I remember correctly.
Money wise, Marty and family did not have to worry as Marty still had one year left on his contract with Niagara.

Shortly there after, Brock called on him and hired him as their interim hockey head coach.
That's it for me.

I agree. I think Marty not coaching in the CHL is completely by his choice, nothing else.
