I am going to cut our new owner some slack. Anything he does will be an upgrade over what we have seen during the past few years.
Predicting right here and now that the team will make the playoffs this year and not just sneak in the back door.
The 5 trades made last month have made the team much deeper and more experienced. Some 3rd and 4th line players from last season will develop their skills playing Junior B rather than getting 4th line minutes here.
Got to be better than in the past few seasons.

Sure I agree the team will be much better and will make the playoffs. I think that was going to happen anyways.

At what future cost do they make the playoffs though?

If they hope to host a memorial cup in a couple years time I would suggest this was not the way to use your draft pick assets

Still suggest that we cut him some slack and see what actually happens down the road. Marty used to laugh everytime that he empty the cupboard to make a run. Once over, he would move players and replenish the cupboard. That's the way it works

Yes I get that.. I have followed the OHL for decades I know how it works.

Pretty sure the consensus was that 2023-24 was the year they should be a serious contender and not 2022-23.

That was the consensus from the fans and probably the media that follow the league but that doesn’t mean that’s what the owner thinks especially when it’s a new one trying to make an impression I think he’s gonna try and have a good team for the next two years

They talked about Silent Sam. Apparently his agent was saying to the team they were concerned about the ownership instability and not knowing who was going to be the coach. Now that it is all settled they are hoping he comes to play here.

So it is pretty much what we guessed on this message board.

- DeDobbelaer said it would be financial insanity to move the team from St. Catharines.

- also said with the fan base, facility and other factors that the IDs should never have to go into a rebuild, that we should always be competitive


Like I said yesterday, he is saying all the things we want him to say. Not a lot to complain about.

I’m sure they’ll be posted on here later or tomorrow. If people are expecting to get a lot out of these I think you’ll be disappointed I expected the Owner/GM to say all the things the fans want to hear about not moving the team and how he’s excited about the team (coach probably says the same about the team) maybe the owner says he wants to bid for the mem cup
