New owner that thinks he knows about hockey (already behind the 8 ball) and trades away any young talent that may have been there. Follows that up by hiring a Junior B caliber coach with little of no CHL experience.

I didn’t say he’d be able to break the lease I just wouldn’t be surprised if he tried it seems like something he would do

He bought the Milton Jr. A team knowing the league did not want it moved. He ended up moving it to Brantford. Karma, the new Milton team is near first place and Brantford last.

Maybe he should just move the team

We would be done with his incompetence

And within a year another team would move in and we would probably have an experienced GM and head coach.

But like I said he has shown to be not very smart with regards to hockey operations, he obviously knows business very well, so moving from here would be an incredibly dumb financial decision

The lease runs until 2034 so the only way he can move the team is if the city gives him permission to break the lease. The only way that will happen is if another team moves here to replace the Icedogs.

But you have to remember that DeDobbelaer plays by his own rules. Moving the OJHL team from Milton to Brantford when the league said he couldn’t do that is an example. Another example is trying to build an OHL team by making 19 trades. So DeDobbelaer getting another OHL team to move here and convincing the city to allow the Icedogs to move to Brantford is plausible for DeDobbelaer.

If we were guaranteed a different team in exchange for moving out this clown I would take it 100%, chances are the new team coming in would not be run by someone as out of touch with reality as this guy

It would be cheaper to just buy the Steelheads. Instead of an elaborate multi year plan to lose money and destroy a team.

It was reported by the Brantford sports reporter that he was interested in the Steelheads in 2018. The plan apparently was to move them to Brantford.

I believe the owner of Mississauga has ties to St. Catharines. If not the Steelheads, then another franchise would move here in a heartbeat.
