Poll on Standard website about new arena

The St. Catharines Standard is running another poll on their website asking "Should the City of St. Catharines build a 5,000 seat hockey arena?"

Tha Standard is full of a bunch of unqualified fluk's. They are sabotaging (with or without knowing it)this whole idea.. simply by calling it a "5000 seat hockey arena" when infact ... it isnt just that! It should be called a 5000 seat Entertainment Complex!


calling it a 5000 seat hockey arena .... DRASTICALLY misinform's people......in a HUGE! way....and influence's them to not like the idea...

I just wrote them to call them on it... can someone else do the same please?

I just contacted the Standard on this issue today as well. Both through email and phone

I got an email today from Wade at the Dogs office about this, but for the life of me, I can't find the poll.

I can't find the poll either. They must have taken it down cause of the calls and emails they got. Good job guys.

It should be a spectator facility to bring in more events to the area the building will not exclssive to the Icedogs but will benfit the whole city and area and bring in some events that have bypassed the region because we do not have the facility to host these events

I think it was just part of the daily polls they have on the Standard website, which made sense as to why it was taken down towards the end of the day and replaced with a new one.

When I voted mid afternoon it was almost 50/50 in votes.

Yeah, nobody at my house could find it mid-evening. Pretty brief poll, about a half day I guess.

Hard to believe it was 50/50ish, I'd expect more support. This isn't a billionaire owner with millionaire players, it's about bringing the city up to standards of other cities like Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie, Kingston, Guelph, etc.

Grrrr...link doesn't work on my phone. Must have been a "part day"'poll! Gone by the evening.

I'm wondering if they found out the Dogs sent out an email, and since the paper doesn't seem to be pro-arena, pulled it before the results got skewed? I checked right after I got the email and it was gone.
