The IceDogs won both of their first two games and were edged out of the first place Divisional spot by Barrie who had fewer goals against. With the return of Akil Thomas, Niagara will hope to preserve this forward momentum as they take on Oshawa and then head out to Michigan for back to back games. Atop the IceDogs scoreboard is Sopa (3-1), Tomasino (2-2) and Castleman (1-3) and with Tynan taking top honours on the back end (1.64GAA, 0.961).

If you were (looking forward) or worried about Tye McSorely playing for Oshawa on Thursday, both he and Serron Noel are suspended.

Flint is still awaiting the return of two key players: F - Ty Dellandria (NHL camp Dalllas) and D – Marcus Gretz (Inj).

It does not appear as if D - Bode Wilde will be returning to Saginaw this year, but they are still considered one of the top teams in the West.

A trade with Saginaw would work if they included Punnett. They have 2nd round picks in every draft down the road. They have a couple of 3rd rounds as well.

The Dogs better get a backup plan for goalies, because Sbar's likely going to be out for a LONG time.
