A very noticeable player so far today is Giacomo Martino (Team Grey). Very good speed and able to find the gaps offensively.

IceDogs prospect Brice Cooke looks great out there. This kid is going to be a beast of a power forward for the #IceDogs

#IceDogs C Jake Uberti looks like he has gained size over the past year. Very noticeable, makes his presence felt in both the offensive & defensive zone. Has delivered some big checks along the boards + driven offense for his line.

Tonight, annual Red /White game rosters below.

A few roster notes:
Two highly talented players during camp 05 G.Martino and 05 C.Haynes are in tonight's lineup, unless I have the NCAA rules incorrect (48 hours? or is it 72 hours?). If it is 48 hours, that likely means the two are looking to go the OHL route.


Dylan Roobroeck makes his training camp debut tonight. Enright and Peters will not play due to injuries. Import Rodwin Dioninco not ready yet, but will join the main camp next week (and I assume the same for Alex Graham). As for Gushchin, fans will have to wait until early October for SJS’s decision (AHL or OHL).

Newcomers from the combined 2020 and 2021 draft classes include highly touted forward Danil Gushchin, the team’s top pick in the 2020 Canadian Hockey League import draft and a third-round pick of the San Jose Sharks, 76th overall, in the NHL Entry Draft.

There was some question heading into training camp that San Jose would be keeping him in its farm system for development but the team permitted him to return to a fourth season at the junior level.

Unlike most prospects, especially those from Ontario, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound, left-hand shoot was not forced to sit out last season due to COVID-19. Gushchin had 32 goals, 32 assists for 64 points in 46 regular-season games in the United States Hockey League with the Muskegon, Mich., Lumberjacks.

“It certainly didn’t hurt him. He looked great. He’s ready to go, as are all the guys,” Burke said of the Gushchin’s third season in Muskegon.

“He can’t wait to get going.”
