I wonder if they were counting on the $ from the gate receipts and with capacity limits now in place , possibly no concessions and Covid popping up here and there maybe they just said to hell with it

I have just read that a wedding was held at the hotel in Red deer while the teams were in residence. Will have to look deeper into this.
That may be the super spreader event that helped cancel this tourney.

Apparently no bubble hotels open to the public and like Ontario no concession no crowd reached fifty percent.

Seeing a rumour that the World Juniors will be played in the summer.

Lets hope they do it somewhere other than Red Deer this time.
