I’m saying it wasn’t reasonable with the players we traded this year because they weren’t playing anywhere near what was expected/people had hoped for maybe they would’ve fully restocked if they had a season last year and guys like Howard got moved

5 for fighting you made some excellent points about why the Sharks probably did not prevent the Dogs from trading Gushin.

That being said if the Burke boys kept him for the reasons you indicated than this team is NEVER going to win a championship with those two leading the way.

In this league you simply cannot waste an excellent import player (who will not return the next season) on a team in a season where they are going nowhere fast.

Looking like a completely dumb move by BB not to move him.

And 5FF sadly . . . I think you are right.

Not trading Lodnia and Gusshin and adding Miletic still baffles me. That's the difference of like 10, 2nd rounders.

Yes not trading Lodnia and Gushchin is annoying whatever the reason but one thing we can’t forget this is still a business someone has to be around for the fans to watch (I’m thinking more so in the Lodnia year)

From a financial and fan point of view. It’s a good idea to keep an NHL bound player on the roster. Plus. He gives the rookies help with development. I want players like Fimis to learn from Gushchin.

He is a joy to watch play. When not suspended ;-)

I would rather watch a really good team year in and year out and maybe win a championship before I die. There is plenty of NHL bound players on the visiting teams.

There was no reason from the point of view of what is best for the franchise, to keep him.

I think management had the thought that without Gushchin, they'd lose every game. Losing every game means losing fans. Losing fans means less bums in seats, which means less BMWs for Burke family members.

Don't forget, not every fan appreciates the nuances of a multi-year play-off strategy. I can't tell you the number of times people have complained "they traded our best guys" in a no-go year for a bundle of picks.
