So…we didn’t make a pick in the import draft?..I realize we have 2 on the roster but thought you were allowed to pick in case one defects

You’re allowed to have a 3rd if one is an OA and might not be back like with guschin last year when we drafted that kid from England I think (I can’t remember where he was from for sure)

I could be wrong, but I don't think it has anything to do with being an OA. I think, it's if one of the players is NHL drafted, you can protect him allowing you to make a 3rd pick. Last year Gushchin was drafted by SJ, allowing the Dogs to make another pick. (the kid from England)

My guess is, even though it's highly unlikely Guschin would be returned to the Dogs this year that they still protected his rights. Having Dionicio and trading for the kid from Ottawa that it would be the three for this year.

Yes I looked last night you’re correct it’s drafted not being an OA because that would be this year for guschin I thought he was an OA last year
