Not sure why they would change the Thursday game times without warning. Perhaps this is something that should have been put out there before the renewals started. Is this even something that people want? It wouldn't have hurt to survey the season ticket holders. Not saying it's a bad move, but it was handled very poorly.

I have read that the Thurs game times would move up to 7:00. Might have been in the Standard...
The earlier game will be good for my family as some games in the past have gone pretty late, especially for my daughter who has school in the morning; 30 mins is helpful... |

7PM start on Thursday is a definite welcome change, even though I can't attend Thurs. games. But hopefully it will allow more families to come out, who want to get the kids home and in bed before 10.

I definitely prefer 7:30 or 8 (I'm showing my age when I remember 8 pm starts), but this is the trend. As long as fans and teams don't complain about open seats early in the game I guess, some people have to work and commute.
What time do schools start around Niagara? As a kid, we went 9 to 3:30. Woke up about 8:30. Went to bed at 11 most nights, so the standard 7:30 game (in the days of three hour games, I really miss those!) was fine. As a night person, I just hate the trend of society getting earlier and earlier. And I think it starts with schools starting too early |

Why was i thinking their first game was on Sept 11? Is there some else going on that day? Why is that in my mind for IceDogs?????

i think the 7 p.m start on thursday is not a bad idea more people will stay to the end of the game instead of leaving after two periods or early in the third my newphew school starts at 8:30 in the morning i think that is the standard start for most schools

I agree, 7pm start times are better during the week...although it makes it a bit rushed between getting home from work, eating and then going to the game, but will be nice when I bring my 3 yo daughter that we can get home earlier from the game then.
I emailed the Burkes after year one suggesting that they change the midweek start times, glad to see that they are doing it. Interesting that there are not many home regular season games in September, as compared to prior years, I think this will bode well for the Icedogs attendance early on in the year. |

Home from work, eat, and to the game by 7? You must have a short commute!! Dinner is definitely post game for 7 pm games for me...I like to be at games plenty early, and dinner before 6 or so would just mean I'm hungry later anyway.
![]() I'm not sure most people are morning people...maybe it's because you tend to attract likeminded people, but I know at least five night people for every morning person. Then again, when those morning people are exercising at 6 am, I'm asleep. Interesting theory...those with bad allergies (like myself) tend to be night people as pollen is highest in the morning and lowest at night. So we feel better and more alert at night (I know I do), I've always been more productive in the evening than morning by far for that reason. I got a bit off topic I suppose!! |
