Ice Dogs 2016?

Ice Dog fans, not sure if you are aware, but the Canada Winter Games hockey tournament is being broadcasted on TSN2 .

Tonight was the semi-finals Ontario vs Quebec. The finals are Sunday at 2:00pm (Ontario vs Alberta).

With two first round picks in the draft this April, it is very likely that a couple of these guys playing on Sunday will be Ice Dogs next year .

Here is TEAM ONTARIO’s Roster: 8 of the 10 names on the OHL TOP PROSPECTS list are on TEAM ONTARIO. I watched the game tonight – safe to say anyone of those 8 players would be a great addition to the Ice Dogs next year.

With 2 picks in the first round, i believe our GM marty should be in B.C. scouting every game, not just last weekend and a few games. He probably is watching it on tv, but it is not the same seeing it live. Unless, he left thurs, which i doubt , to catch yesterday semi finals and sunday finals. We need to hit it big with these 2 first rounders and our GM is not there??

I suspect in addition to his own observations he relies upon a team of local scouts and central scouting reports. His strength would be in meeting potential draft picks (and their family) and selling them on Niagara.

When do the Dogs ever use central scouting reports in the first round? They usually go off the charts or pick a kid that won't report.

The whole Logan Brown thing was a mess, but for Marty there was no downside. He either gets a great player or a mitt full of picks and a compensatory second first-round draft. Brilliant!
